Chapter - 3518

Zeke was still preoccupied with thoughts of Lacey, and it was likely that others were also missing someone. They all wished to get in touch.

Within the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, due to the restrictions of the ancient formation, how could there possibly be any signal?

The signals were acting oddly now, but Zeke didn't immediately concern himself with figuring out why.

He quickly pulled out his own phone.

Everyone else was also occupied, ignoring Anvindr and engrossed in their own phones.

Only Vesper remained, standing still, with a slight frown on her brows.

Just as expected, there really was a signal.

Overjoyed, Zeke noticed that he had one bar of signal.

Just as he was about to call Lacey, he realized that the signal was abruptly cut off.

"What's going on?"

A sense of heaviness settled in Zeke's heart.

The phone gave a slight buzz, signaling the arrival of a single text message.

It was from Lacey.

Unable to resist, a smile crept onto Zeke's face as he hurriedly opened the message: Zeke, I'm about to head to the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, and it should be about fifteen days from now when I'll arrive where Lord Lazzo's disciples are. I hope to see you then. Take care of yourself. I'm not sure if you'll receive this message. Don't worry about me.

Her familiar voice seemed to resonate right next to him.

A hint of a blissful smile couldn't help but form on the corner of Zeke's lips.

Lacey had also been constantly thinking of him.

There wouldn't be any signal in the secluded area, but due to her longing, she still managed to send him a text message.

Quietly, Zeke tucked away his phone into his storage bag.

Soon after, he glanced at Anvindr and the others, their faces etched with worry and anticipation as they awaited a signal.

Their expressions were far from pleasant.

It wasn't just Zeke whose phone had lost signal. Their phones also didn't have any signal.

It was an inevitable circumstance. It was odd enough to have a signal in the Secret Realm of Mount Kush, and to have received a single text message was actually considered fortunate.

It was fortunate that Anvindr was fiddling with his phone, which allowed Zeke to discover the text message from Lacey. Consequently, he found out the exact time Lacey was coming to the Secret Realm of Mount Kush.

Suddenly, Vesper moved to stand beside Zeke, bringing with her a gentle breeze carrying a sweet scent.

"I think I understand what a phone is." She gave Zeke a faint smile, saying, "It's similar to a communication tool, right? Has anyone sent you a message?"

"No," Zeke vehemently shook his head, his face serious. "My phone bill is overdue, just like Anvindr's."

"Why were you smiling just now? Your smile seemed so odd..." She furrowed her brow in a playful pout, her face filled with curiosity.

"Ahem!" Zeke coughed heavily, interrupting the coquettish words, and then glanced at Anvindr.

Feeling inexplicably perplexed, Anvindr furrowed his brows and turned to look.

"Anvindr," he said, "from now on, the vital task of checking the mobile signal falls on your shoulders." Zeke spoke seriously. "Notify me immediately if there's any signal again!"

This is a vital task? Oh yes, it's a monumental task.

Anvindr also maintained a serious expression, nodding heavily in agreement.

"Rest assured, Zeke. As soon as I detect a signal, I'll let you know immediately. That way, you can call those you're worried about. Also, I heard there's a new movie out in theaters. We should be able to find it online now. When the time comes, we could download a movie or two. My high-end phone has a projector feature, you know!"

What he said was a bit off the mark and irrelevant.

Everyone couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Zeke could not stifle his laughter either.

"Enough, Anvindr, stop daydreaming about having fun and watching movies. We have serious matters to attend to now. Don't assume we're completely safe here."

Zeke's expression turned noticeably serious as he scanned the crowd.

He noticed that Vela also looked rather unwell.

"What's wrong, Vela?" Zeke asked.

"I was thinking of calling my master, but I broke the badge of authority earlier and didn't want him to worry."

Vela wore a troubled frown, her face etched with distress. Once she finished speaking, she shot a fierce glare at Anvindr. "It's all his fault! Just now, I saw him engrossed in his mobile game. If only he had noticed the signal earlier, I wouldn't have wasted so much time!"

Zeke was taken aback. He hadn't known about this. It turned out that Anvindr was actually playing games on his phone.
